Change ahead

By Hannah Muñoz, The Rope Contributor

There has been crazy weather these past few weeks, especially for Birmingham. So far we’ve had three or four snow possibilities that would change every hour and end up amounting to nothing or swerving north or south of us. Weather is constantly changing.

In fact, most things in our lives are changing. We grow older, we take new classes every semester or year, we change jobs, our closest friends change from one person to another, seasons change … the list goes on and on.

It’s important to be able to adapt to these and other changes. No matter how hard we try to keep everything the same, things will keep on changing. Except for one thing. God will never change. He will always be here and He always has been.

“’I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘Who is and Who was, and Who is to come. The Almighty.’” Revelation 1:8

I know that a lot of people don’t enjoy change and that probably all of us have at least one thing that we never want to change. Isn’t it so comforting to know that we serve a God whose love will never change and Who will never fade away?

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, He will not grow tired or weary and his understanding no one can fathom.” Isaiah 40:28
