Trusting and abiding in seasons of waiting
When Jesus says I can do nothing on my own, He reminds me that each day, each second and each breath comes from Him.

How many times do we do it? We speak up in faith and ask, knowing and believing God can do the impossible. But when the winds blow, we forget who He is.
While we may be discouraged about events unfolding around us, whether they be global, national or personal, we can rest in God’s sovereignty and faithfulness. We can rest in His goodness.
God is constant. He never changes. … He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The consistency of God also means that insofar as He has given us insight, we can see how He chooses to relate to us as His special creation, distinct from the animals.
Sometimes God steps in and closes a door, but not to hurt us or just because He can — His plan is always greater than ours. As I look back on this season of my life, I can’t help but wonder how many other times God has protected me through His “no.”
One of my favorite things about church is praise and worship time. I love to sing and look across the sanctuary to see everyone celebrate the goodness of God in unison.
To understand completely the ways of God would make us gods ourselves, and we must hold fast to the humbling declaration, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are [God’s] ways higher than your ways and [God’s] thoughts than your thoughts” (Is. 55:9).
Scripture doesn’t promise health, wealth or marriage, but it does promise that God will never leave us or forsake us (Deut. 31:6). So wherever you are, whatever you are feeling, God is there with you.
