Walking through Luke: Affirmation

The Lord uses Elizabeth to provide affirmation and quell Mary’s doubts. These women are intentionally placed in the story of Christ.

What an honor.

“But why is it granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”

This is what Elizabeth asks when she is filled with the Spirit at Mary’s coming. She is awestruck and humbled. And from that place, she reaffirms to Mary what the angel had told her.

“Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told to her from the Lord.”

The Lord uses Elizabeth to provide affirmation and quell Mary’s doubts. These women are intentionally placed in the story of Christ to show how the Lord values friendship, affirmation, community and his creation.

You and I are made in the image of the holy God who wove together this masterpiece of salvation and deliverance from the beginning of time.

What an incredible testament of love that we get to receive with all joy. Never forget that.
